Association for the Preservation and the
Sustainable Use of the Amazon Ecosystems

 

The size of the forest reserve „Floresta da Vida“ ist 10.788 hectares, being the finest tropical rainforest still preserved near Manaus. The reserve was created by Zygmunt Sulistrowski, who cared for it through his Association CEPECAM for more than 25 years.

Since 1999 Hiléia Association participates in the responsabilities for the reserve, by running our Field Station and by the work of our rangers, among others.
